Quercus rubra is a large deciduous ornamental tree native to North America, appreciated worldwide for its rapid growth, majestic shape, and spectacular autumn coloration, ranging from bright red to intense orange.

This oak can reach a height of 20–25 meters and a canopy width of up to 12–15 meters. Its growth habit is generally upright and broad, with strong and well-structured branches. In its early years, it has a more pyramidal shape, which gradually opens as it matures. The growth is relatively fast compared to other oak species, making it particularly interesting for medium-to-long-term landscaping projects.

The leaves are large, lobed, with pointed edges, and are bright green during the growing season. In autumn, they turn a striking scarlet red or deep purple, making the tree a true focal point in gardens and parks. The flowers are inconspicuous and bloom in spring, giving rise to oval acorns.

Quercus rubra prefers deep, cool, slightly acidic or acidic, and well-drained soils. It tolerates cold well (down to -25°C) and is also suited to continental climates.

Thanks to its grandeur, longevity, resilience, and strong decorative impact, Quercus rubra is ideal for public parks, wide street plantings, and large gardens.
