The Acer palmatum ‘Garnet Tower’ is a deciduous Japanese maple cultivar, particularly elegant and distinctive, selected for its vertical growth habit.

Unlike the traditional forms with a low, spreading canopy, ‘Garnet Tower’ develops with a slender and compact growth, while still maintaining the beauty of its finely lobed foliage.

This plant generally reaches a height of about 3–5 meters, with a compact width that rarely exceeds 2.5 meters. Its structure is neat and composed, with upright branches that slightly curve upward, creating a soft silhouette.

The leaves, deeply dissected and almost feathery, emerge in spring with an intense purplish-red color, which is maintained throughout the summer with subtle bronze highlights. In autumn, the plant transforms, turning into a bright and vibrant red.

The Acer palmatum ‘Garnet Tower’ is surprisingly easy to care for, requiring only minimal maintenance, such as regular watering during the hot months and light formative pruning. It doesn’t need frequent interventions, doesn’t create mess, and doesn’t have significant phytosanitary issues if grown in good conditions.

It prefers positions in dappled sunlight but can also tolerate direct sun during the cooler hours, as long as the soil remains fresh and well-drained.
